Reduce the risk of ice dam formation this winter!

March 17, 2017 Anthony Naimo

During winter, homes across the northern US states as well as Canada are prone to large snowfalls and the appearance of icicles. Did you know that icicles and ice dams can cause unseen damage to your home? Ice dams are formed by warm, conditioned air from inside your home escaping through your home's roof. The warm air melts the snow on the roof and as the melted snow travels down to the eaves, it refreezes as it hits colder parts of the roof. This infographic shows you how ice dams form, the potential damage they can cause and how an upgrade to spray foam insulation can help reduce the risk of them occurring.
